If you plan to spend your holidays in Las Vegas there are several things you must see and do. There are great places and super shows to see and lots of ways to have fun. But you must make a plan and pace yourself. There are enough attractions in Las Vegas to keep anyone entertained for months. The key to not being overwhelmed is to pick two or three things you want to do and see each day. That will leave you lots of time to rest, enjoy the great food and scenic views of the desert and get rich in the casinos. So take a power nap, then grab a map and prepare to enjoy yourself in Las Vegas.

A great way to begin to explore Las Vegas is by taking a stroll along the Las Vegas Strip after dark. It’s a fantastic experience. The current Las Vegas Strip is a 6.8 kilometer stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard between Sahara Avenue on the north and Russell Road on the south. Technically, the Las Vegas Strip is not in Las Vegas at all. It runs through the unincorporated townships of Paradise and Winchester, Nevada. It contains 19 of the 25 largest hotels in the world. They each compete for the attention of tourists by trying to make their facades more fantastic and ostentatious than everyone else’s. That has created a truly amazing stretch of roadway with dancing fountains, erupting volcanoes and replicas of the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, the New York City Skyline, the Great Pyramids of Egypt and many other world famous iconic structures and flickering neon lights, great music and an explosion of sound.

You must visit the Bellagio’s Fountains at the southern end of the strip. It offers the combination of wonderful music, brilliant lights and rhythmic water fountains which rise out of a 3.2 hectare manmade lake sometimes shooting 140 meters into the air. It is mesmerizing. Shark Reef Aquarium with over a million gallons of water filled with sharks, saw fish, barracudas and piranhas is another Las Vegas ‘must see’. Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat is another excellent Las Vegas nature exhibit.

Freemont Street in downtown Las Vegas is an amazing area. It is an unending street festival under a gigantic canopy with food, music, games and movies projected onto the ceiling. The exotic drinks in Las Vegas are legendary. You can buy a combination of Cristal ruby champagne, Hennessy Ellipse, 150 year old Gran Marnier and liquid gold topped with 23-carat gold flakes for only £1,000. You can then go to the Graceland Chapel and marry a stranger or visit Las Vegas Space Flights where you can experience zero gravity and a simulated journey into space.

But Las Vegas is all about fun and relaxation. Be sure to visit one of the excellent spas or take time to splash in the 4.5 hectare pool on the southern end of the strip. Then head to the casinos and have fun.
