Abandoned complex in Bulgaria

Filed under : Featured Articles, Offbeat

This is a communist monument. Located almost in the center of Bulgaria, near the monument of Shipka. A huge flying saucer, which can be seen from afar. Nevertheless, it is part of bulgarian history, but simply abandoned after the fall of communism in the us … Sad.

its always sad when buildings are left to rot, but maybe it still says something about communism , “broken and forgotten”

    The second picture is epic.

Sites like this one are so cool to look at and I hope it will be preserved in some manner. The building is a statement of time and how people once lived. It is completely cool!!!

  6. Thanks so much for this! I have been in that monument with a friend of mine about 8 years ago and I remember the cold sweat an shivers down my spine. It was a very scary experience, I can never have the guts to go deep into those side corridors. I never took photos, so your photo posts have made me relive those moments. Did you go as far to get into that tower by any chance? Have you any photos of the worn-off mosaics showing Engels, Marx others and a freaking astronaut?

    Best,

    Demir
